Consumer Advisory Board
The Lowcountry AIDS Services (LAS) Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) is an involved and caring group of agency clients who provide input to enhance the quality and effectiveness of services provided by LAS, and was founded on the belief that the opinions, experiences and perspectives of individuals living with or HIV/AIDS are essential to the development of effective strategies to address issues raised by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
It is the mission of the CAB to provide a mechanism for LAS consumers to have meaningful input into the development and implementation of policies and programs that address their needs, and those of other community members at risk from HIV/AIDS.
LAS clients are uniquely positioned to assess the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of agency services. In the pursuit of this mission LAS CAB has the following goals:
- To provide consumer input in the development, implementation and evaluation of agency programs and policies.
- To act as liaison between other non-CAB member consumers and LAS.
- To educate and unite consumers through a variety of activities that support health promotion and encourage consumer involvement.
