Medicaid cuts of at least $45 billion over the next 10 years will affect healthcare for 55% of adults and 90% of children living with AIDS.
Federal funding for AIDS and HIV programming has declined dramatically in recent years. Statewide funds are also declining each year. As a result, LAS relies heavily on private donations to keep our services available to the community.
Each year, we organize two major fundraising events. Dining with Friends and Shopping With Friends help provide more than $200,000 to fund our programs. We are always seeking financial and volunteer support for these activities.
Our Capital Campaign kicked off in 2007, and is designed to help create a sustainable source of funding for LAS. The Capital Campaign will help us pay for our facility and underwrite the prevention and education programs we have undertaken. Many corporations, municipalities and individuals have committed to support this campaign. If you would like to be involved, please contact Brad Childs, Executive Director, today.
